Comments Comments

Nikon have announced the Z 24-70mm F2.8 S lens for Z mount, a new standard zoom lens for the full-frame mirrorless format.

The new lens is 25% smaller and 18% lighter than AF-S 24-70mm F2.8 for F-mount, and also features a totally redesigned optical formula comprising 17 elements in 15 groups.

There's two Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass, and four aspherical elements. There's also a new 'Arneo' coat, which iwill help control flare and ghosting, and a fluorine coating on the front and rear will minimise the impact of fingerprints and oils.

In a first, the lens features an OLED panel which can show a range of infiormation, including focus distance, aperture and focal length. There's also a custom 'L-Fn' button and a third customisable control ring.

The Z 24-70mm F2.8 S lens will go on sale locally in Australia in April.
