DJI launches Mic Mini 2S wireless microphone with internal recording

DJI has introduced the DJI Mic Mini 2S, a compact wireless microphone system featuring internal recording for the first time in the Mic Mini range.

Designed for content creators, filmmakers and journalists, the Mic Mini 2S adds 32-bit float internal recording, expanded transmitter connectivity and improved noise reduction features, while maintaining a small form factor for everyday recording.

The system includes up to 28 hours of internal audio storage, with each transmitter featuring approximately 14.5GB of built-in storage. The 32-bit float recording capability is designed to preserve detail across a wide range of sound levels, helping reduce issues such as clipping when recording unpredictable audio environments.

The DJI Mic Mini 2S includes two levels of AI noise cancelling to help manage background noise in different situations. The Basic setting is designed for indoor environments by reducing sounds such as fans, air conditioning and room reverberation, while the Strong setting is aimed at noisier outdoor locations.

Additional features include Clipping Control, which reduces the impact of sudden volume spikes, and Loudness Balance, which helps maintain consistent output levels for interviews, livestreams and other spoken-word recordings.

Users can also choose between three voice tone presets: Regular for natural sound, Bright for increased clarity, and Rich for a warmer tone.

The Mic Mini 2S can connect one receiver to up to four transmitters, making it suitable for podcasts, interviews, panel discussions and small production teams.

The system is also compatible with previous DJI microphone products, including Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 transmitters, as well as the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver.

Each transmitter weighs approximately 12g and supports both clip and magnetic attachment options. The removable magnetic front cover allows users to customise the appearance of the microphone, with additional colour options available separately.

The Mic Mini 2S also integrates with selected DJI Osmo cameras through OsmoAudio Direct Connection, allowing transmitters to connect directly without a receiver and record 48kHz 24-bit audio.

Compatible devices include Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano and Osmo Action 6.

The DJI Mic Mini 2S is available from DJI and authorised retailers from today, starting at around $149.
