DJI announces Osmo Pocket 4 with upgraded video and tracking features
DJI has announced the Osmo Pocket 4, the latest version of its pocket-sized gimbal camera, adding higher frame rate video, improved low-light performance and updated subject tracking tools.
The new model retains a 1-inch CMOS sensor and introduces support for 4K video at up to 240 frames per second.
DJI says the camera can capture up to 14 stops of dynamic range and record in a 10-bit D-Log colour profile, aimed at improving tonal detail and flexibility in post-production.
Low-light performance has also been updated, with an f/2.0 aperture and image processing designed to produce clearer images and more consistent skin tones in dim conditions and high-contrast scenes.
A built-in zoom function allows switching between 1x and 2x lossless zoom, with additional digital zoom options available.
The Osmo Pocket 4 includes a three-axis stabilisation system and a range of tracking features under the latest version of DJI’s ActiveTrack technology.
These include subject locking, automatic tracking and selectable framing modes intended to keep subjects centred while moving. Gesture controls allow users to trigger recording or tracking functions without touching the device.
New hardware controls include a rotating screen to start recording, a dedicated zoom button and a customisable preset button. A five-direction joystick allows users to adjust camera position and recenter the gimbal.
The device also includes 107GB of internal storage and supports file transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s.
Additional shooting features include adjustable shutter speeds for motion blur effects, selectable colour profiles, in-camera skin tone adjustments and an optional attachable fill light. Battery performance is rated at up to 240 minutes of recording at 1080p/24fps, with fast charging capable of reaching 80% in 18 minutes.
The camera supports DJI’s wireless microphone system, including the Mic 2, Mic 3 and Mic Mini transmitters, enabling multi-channel audio recording.
The Osmo Pocket 4 is available for pre-order and is scheduled to begin shipping on April 22.
Pricing starts at AUD 749 for the Essential Combo, AUD 769 for the Standard Combo and AUD 959 for the Creator Combo.
