Canon announces M50 Mark II finally arrives in Australia

Canon Australia has finally announced the EOS M50 Mark II will be hitting our shores shortly, some four months after it was first announced globally.

The new camera comes with content sharing abilities via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to create a connected and versatile-looking content creation tool, but by-and-large it's not quite the quantum leap over its predecessor many users might have been hoping for.

The EOS M50 Mark II (also known as the EOS Kiss M2 - which Canon has supplied us images of) is capable of capturing landscape and vertical 4K video (such as for instagram reels or TikTok) or livestreaming Full HD directly to YouTube. Onboard, there's a 3.5mm microphone input, clean HDMI and USB output and vari-angle touchscreen.

When paired with Canon’s free EOS Webcam Utility Software, casual streaming on Twitch or video streaming chats are now possible.

On the inside, the M50 II features the same 24.1 megapixel APS-C sensor, and Digic 8 processor as its predecessor.

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II will be available as a single lens kit with an EF-M15-45 lens from authorised local dealers from March 2021. RRP for the EOS M50 Mark II Single kit with EF-M15-45 is $1,199.00 with pricing set at dealer discretion.

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II will be supported by Canon Australia’s 5-year warranty when products have been purchased from an authorised Canon Australia reseller.
