Gary Kavanagh, Yellow (People and Portrait 2018)

I am not a self portrait photographer but I have recently been going through a rough patch at work and as I work out on a mine site, I cannot escape it by going home at the end of the day. This series I took to because I find the sulfurous yellow lighting of the camp to be a continuous and obvious factor that matched my mood of late. The only colour in my life had been my wife, and when it comes to her while I'm at work, it was all about the phone call home. The first photo shows the emptiness of the room halls, the second the relaxation pose after work. The third I showed naked because I was opening myself with this photos and the forth shows the light of my life.
