Deborah Pearse, Orphan Tawnies (Wildlife and Animal 2018)

It's that time of year when baby Tawny Frogmouth can end up on the ground. Often they can be placed back in the nest, parents are still caring for them or they can be reunited. Unfortunately these three chicks, from different locations, have to stay in care and be soft released. Circumstances such as impossibly high nests, Goshawks nest nearby and no parents found at all, make it impossible to leave them at such a vulnerable age. They are beautiful birds to have in care and snuggle up to each other and 'chat' incessantly.
