Sony has added a new long-distance telephoto zoom to its lens lineup. The SAL 55-300mm F4.5-5.6 SAM is designed for use with Sony's A-mount APS-C cameras, and delivers an equivalent focal length range of 82.5-450mm.
The lens is fitted with Sony's Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) for high-speed AF tracking and quiet operation and includes an Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass element to reduce colour aberrations.
It will be available in Australia from September 2012.
