Photo-Retro Exhibition to open at Sydney's Black Eye Gallery
A collection spanning over four decades, Australian photographer George Schwarz's Photo-Retro is autobiographical and absorbing. Held at Black Eye Gallery in Sydney's Darlinghurst, the exhibition will feature his images that “operate as vehicles across the structures of time and memory”.
The works aim to touch on universal themes of sex, death, the unconscious and life with confronting images forcing the audience to reflect on their own experiences.
Some of Schwarz's images are quite unconventional and bizarre with the“unexpected amalgamations of visual influences” intending to blur the line between art and reality.
