We're a bit late in announcing it, but we would like to offer a huge congratulations to Sharon Meyers who has won our May 'Textures' photo competition with her image Tiger Textures, as selected by our guest judge, photographer and Capture mag Ed. Tim Levy.

"There were so many great images here, but this image of the tiger's mouth is very impressive and memorable. It’s also not an ‘obvious’ photo of a tiger. You can see the texture of its nose, its whiskers and fur around its mouth.

It’s incredible the colour pallet and the contrasted striping. It makes you want to pat it – but beneath this texture lurks one of nature’s most deadly killing machines!"

As our judge's choice winner, Sharon wins a 12-month Print subscription to Australian Photography or Capture mag.

Tim also chose two special mentions, Wes Warner’s Textures and colours of an Australian Summer, and Ros Osborne's, Walking Tall - a fun image and a unique perspective of one of the world’s most cheekiest birds.
