Huge congratulations to Jennifer Smith who has won our July 'Food' photo competition with her image Cooking with Grandma.

Speaking about the image, guest judge Alfonso Calero described the image as a moment to be cherished.

"I usually gravitate towards empathy and memories combined with a moment to be cherished forever. Here, I love the clean white and fresh feel of the background. The child's warm smile looking forward to the fruits of her labour and special bonding with Grandma, resonates brilliantly," he said.

As our judge's choice winner, Jennifer wins a 12 month subscription to either Australian Photography or Capture

Alfonso also chose two special mentions, Allan Copson's Sweetcorn and pumpkins:

"A flemish/baroque styled still life with subtle soft lighting. Excellent blend of different shapes and sizes of food. I also loved the storytelling warm and wooden furniture with an Asian feel to tie in everything together."

and Sophie Breckenridge's Levitating Food.

"Great use of a fast shutter and strobe lighting to freeze the movement. Clever choice of colour combo (green & red) contrasting strongly with a dark background."
