Canon and Nikon share mindboggling DSLR stockpiles from the 2018 Olympics

Not that it's an arms race, but Canon and Nikon have shared images of their DSLR stockpiles for agency photographers at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Although we had thought Sony might have a bigger presence at the Olympics, it appears for most sports photographers the traditional DSLR is still the camera of choice.

Canon's gear

Canon has said to Shutterbug it has 1,359 products available for photographers, including 205 cameras and 520 lenses.

Nikon's camera gear

Nikon's kit is of a similar size, with DPReview reporting that although the number of cameras and lenses has been kept confidential, the stockpile is worth about “several hundred luxury cars.”

If that's not enough, both Canon and Nikon have an impressive team of support available to their shooters too. There's a combined 60 tech reps on hand to help with services such as cleaning, checking, and calibrating equipment, according to Shutterbug.
