When Apple unveiled a new homepage this week to showcase an international gallery of images shot with the iPhone 6, there was just was just one Australian name on the list of photo credits, Sydney-based professor and amateur shooter Kim Goodwin.

Goodwin took her winning shot near El Calafate, Argentina, on a recent trip to South America and says she is always on the lookout for something interesting to shoot.

"My husband and dog are used to me stopping in the middle of the street to photograph something," she says.

Asked what advice she would give to other 'phone-ographers', Goodwin says to shoot every day and try to learn from looking at other people's images.

"The community on Instagram, for example, is very friendly and there's a lot of support. I feel my images have improved from following people who use iPhones regularly, as I've absorbed tips and lessons from their work."

As well as the online gallery, images from the Apple campaign are expected to appear on billboards, posters and in newspapers in more than 70 cities around the globe.
