ARS is an anonymous online platform to get feedback on your images

Comments Comments

ARS, a new platform promising to offer photographers a way to get honest feedback on their images, has launched online.

The new platform is designed to be an alternative to social media where negative comments and biased feedback can mean getting genuine feedback can be challenging. To get around this, the platform is anonymous, and presents a random selection of images.

According to the ARS website, which is currently in BETA, the site has been developed to remove the ego from photography.

“Facebook and Instagram is a good platform for sharing pictures, but not a good platform for receiving meaningful critique and feedback on your photos,” the service states. “Consider ARSBETA like a ‘testing ground’ for your pictures (A/B testing). You can upload pictures, and see what other (random/anonymous) photographers really think about your pictures.”

ARS has a basic feedback process. Photographers can “keep” or “ditch” each photo while providing optional comments. Users who aren't registered on the platform are unable to see, comment or upload images. Photographers can view their "Keep" percentage for each uploaded image, as well as the number of critiques provided.

A third version (the BETA is curently up to V2) and a mobile version are being planned currently. You can try the platform for yourself at ARS.
