Fujifilm has released details of its latest entry in its successful X Series mirrorless line-up - the X-A10.

Fujifilm says the X-A10 features a 16.3 megapixel APS-C sensor matched to the company's proprietary colour-reproduction technology.

The X-A10 also boasts several user-friendly features including 180-degree slide-and-tilt LCD screen with 100 per cent visibility for easy shooting of "selfies”.

The camera's grip is shaped to accommodate both normal shooting and self-portraits. When taking selfies, focusing and shutter release is operated by pressing the vertical command dial directly below the user's index finger.

Rotating the tilting LCD upward 180 degrees activates the Eye Detection AF to automatically adjust focus on the subject's eyes. The X-A10 also features a Portrait Enhancer mode for natural and beautiful skin-tone reproduction.

The camera has a compact lightweight body design with only two command dials for adjustment of aperture, shutter speed and exposure settings. Frequently used functions such as white balance, continuous shooting and the self-timer can be assigned to standalone function buttons.

The X-A10 is capable of shooting around 410 frames on a single battery charge. When fitted with the XC16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS II kit lens the camera has a minimum focusing distance of approx. 7cms. Normal ISO range is 200 to 6400, with extended settings of 12800 and 25600 available.

As well the X-A10 offers six Film Simulation modes: Provia (standard), Velvia (vivid), Astia (soft), Classic Chrome, as well as Monochrome and Sepia. A total of ten Advanced Filters are also available.

The camera also has a built-in pop-up flash and full HD (1080/30p, 25p, 24p) video recording. Five-axis image stabilisation combines optical and electronic stabilisation to reduce the affects of camera shake during video recording.

The X-A10 also features Panorama and Time Lapse functions as well as wireless connectivity.

Local pricing and availablity to be announced.
