The lens will be available for Sony FE, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and L mount, but according to sources may only provide AF options for Z and FE mounts.

Compact and weighing only 420 grams, the Zero-D part in the lens' title refers to the its ability to produce zero distortion even when shooting wide open, which is something that would otherwise be particularly prominent with such a wide focal length.

The lens' optical design consists of 15 elements in nine groups, and includes two aspherical and three ED (extra-low dispersion) elements. In addition, Laowa says the standard version of the lens ships with five diaphragm blades, but a manual focus version with 14 blades will also be available. The lens has a 77mm filter thread.

In addition, the lens barrel is marked with a 10 to signify the company's tenth year in business.

The new Laowa 10mm f/2.8 Zero-D FF is currently available to pre-order via the Venus Optics official website, with both AF and MF versions priced at $799 USD ($1223 AUD). The new glass will ship from mid-March.
