This adapter lets you mount any lens to your smartphone

If you've ever wondered just what it's like to fit one of those big camera lenses to your smartphone (and who hasn't), Chinese company Cinematic International Company Limited has created a single universal adapter that may be just what you're after.

Its new lens-to-smartphone adapter was being shown at NAB 2018 in Las Vegas, and you can see it in this video below by No Film School.

Cinematics International Company Limited is a Shenzhen, China-based company that manufactures photography and cinematography equipment.

The bracket offers compatibility will all the major lens mount options — Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony E, among others. The adaptor has two large metal handles to make balancing the adaptor easier, although you would probably want to keep a hand on your lens too.

Unfortunately the size of most smartphone sensors will mean you'd be running a pretty healthy crop factor - as much as 7 to 8 times based on most smartphone sensors, but it could still be an interesting option as a B camera.

Cinematics International Company Limited sell cinema gear on eBay, although the universal adaptor hasn't made it online yet.
