Fujifilm has released details of two new professional GF lenses and a series of accessories for its GFX 50S medium format camera.

The new Fujinon GF110mm F2 R LM WR and Fujinon GF23mm F4 R LM WR lenses are reportedly set for release in June.

The maker says the new optics have been designed to withstand use in challenging environments via a series of seals that prevent dust and water intrusion. They are also equipped with a linear motor for fast and quiet autofocus.

Fuji GF 110

The GF110mm F2 R LM WR lens looks to be an ideal choice for partnering the GFX 50S when shooting portraiture. It has an 87mm focal length in the 35mm format, and is claimed to produce beautiful bokeh when used wide open at F2, courtesy of its nine rounded aperture blades.

Lens configuration comprises of 14 elements in nine groups - including four ED lens elements - arranged to limit chromatic aberrations and an inner focusing AF system for optimal configuration.

The Fujinon GF110mm F2 R LM WR lens will sell for $4,299 RRP.

With a focal length equivalent to 18mm in the 35mm format, the GF23mm F4 R LM WR lens looks well suited to landscape and architecture photography.

Its construction comprises of 15 lens elements and 12 groups – including two aspherical lenses, one super ED lens, and three ED lenses. Fuji says optimal arrangement of the Super ED lens and three ED lenses helps suppress chromatic aberration.

The lens features a Nano GI coating that is designed to prevent the entry of diagonal light and the occurrence of ghosting and flare.

Fuji GF 23

As with the GF110mm, the GF23mm lens uses an inner focusing AF system and a linear motor to drive the lens elements for fast and quiet autofocus operation.

Both lenses also feature an aperture ring that has a C position (command dial mode) to allow the lens aperture value to be changed via the camera's command dial. A locking mechanism has been added to the A (Auto) and C positions to prevent unintended movements of the aperture dial.

Accessories include lens cap, rear cap, hood and pouch.

The Fujinon GF23mm F4 R LM WR lens will sell for $3,999 RRP.

As well as lenses to suit Fuji's new medium format camera the company has announced the upcoming release of the View Camera Adapter G for photographers who wish to use the GFX 50S with older Fujinon large format camera lenses, such as the CM Fujinon.

The adapter is mounted in the film camera loading position of the view camera which adopts the film format of 4 x 5.
