Well known for his work as a documentary photographer, Sydney-based artist Paul Blackmore ventures into new territory with his latest exhibition, One, a series of black-and-white nudes shot in the studio with a single light source and background.

Blackmore says his aim was to strip back distractions and play with ideas of scale and shape.

Blackmore’s photography has been published in Time, L’Express, Le Monde and Geo and he has exhibited at the Biennale D’Limage, France; Leonardo Museum, Salt Lake City; Camera One, New York; Stills Gallery, Sydney; and the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne.

One is on at Edmund Pearce Gallery, Melbourne, from 1-26 October 2014. The official opening is on Friday 6 October at 6pm. The Edmund Pearce Gallery is located at 37 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Victoria.
