Olympus has announced a new wide-angle zoom for the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ is the first dust- and splash-proof lens for the MFT system. It has also been optimised for video shooting and includes a motorised zoom mechanism to deliver smooth, constant-rate zooming.
Olympus describes the lens as an improved version of its MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) lenses with smoother zooming and better auto-focusing.
The non-telescoping lens barrel offers a 24-100mm equivalent focal length and is available in black and silver. It’s due for release in Australia in mid-January with prices to be announced closer to the release date.
