Nikon has announced plans to release two new lenses, the AF-S 24-85mm f/3.5-5.4G ED VR for Nikon’s full-frame FX-mount DSLRs, and
the AF-S 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for
APS-format, DX cameras.
Both lenses feature Nikon’s VRII vibration
reduction system, which delivers camera shake compensation equivalent to around
four stops. Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) offers quiet autofocus and there
are two focus modes – M/A (autofocus with manual override) and M (manual).
The announcement comes as total
production of Nikkor lenses for Nikon interchangeable lens cameras reaches 70
million.
The lenses are expected to be available at the end of June.
Local pricing was not available at the time of
writing.
