A new Kickstarter campaign is now underway for a product called Helium Core, a chassis that can basically turn an iPhone into a professional style camera rig.
Made from anodised 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, Helium Core when fitted on to an iPhone facilitates the use of attachment lenses, lights, flashes, microphones and other accessories.
There are also several tripod mounts fitted for easy attachment to camera supports.
The unit also features a hand grip and its integrated lens mount fits 37mm threaded lenses or other lenses with adapters. The axis of the main tripod mount is aligned with the centre of the lens. Users still have access to the iPhone display, buttons and ports.
The Helium Core currently comes in two sizes to suit the iPhone 6/6s or the 6/6s Plus.
Helium Core can be secured now by pledging (from $93) on the Helium core Kickstarter page where you'll also find more information.
