AIPP awards Vic's top pro photographers

The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) has awarded Michael Teo with the title of Victoria’s top professional photographer for 2017.

The specialist fashion, advertising and portrait, photographer was presented with the award at the AIPP VIC Epson Professional Photography Awards event held in Melbourne.

The awards are run annually in every state by the AIPP, the country’s largest photographic membership body.

The national president of the AIPP, Vittorio Natoli, says the awards represent the best of the best of professional photography in Australia.

“The AIPP VIC Epson Professional Photography Awards are a celebration of photographic excellence and represent the pinnacle of professional photography,” he says.

To be eligible for the Professional Photographer of the Year title in each state, photographers must win a category - Teo was the winner of the portrait category.

More than 190 entrants submitted a collective of 885 of images to be judged.

This year, the awards were judged over two days by some of Australia’s most recognised photographers including Hilary Wardhaugh, David Evans and Greg Hocking.

The state awards also act as a stepping stone to the country’s largest national awards for professional print photography, the APPAs (the Australian Professional Photography Awards).
