Sports photographer Adam Pretty has been named overall winner in the 2012 Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards.

Pretty, who began his career as a news photographer with The Sydney Morning Herald in 1997, moved to Getty Images in 1998 where he soon established himself as a specialist sports photographer. These days he divides his time between sport and advertising.
