Expand your horizons and your photographic capabilities by travelling on an exciting PONANT and National Geographic expedition voyage. Offering a wide range of expedition voyages that range from the polar regions to the tropics, Australia’s own spectacular Kimberley region and nearby Melanesian and Micronesian islands, you will travel with renowned National Geographic photographers who will teach you how to best frame the subject and capture movement and light in the amazing destinations visited.
Immersive expedition experiences include a range of cultural and wildlife encounters around the world from Alaska to the Russian Far East, French Polynesia to the Seychelles, Latin America and Alaska. Imagine the privilege of photographing literally millions of penguins in Antarctica! Capture the drama, vibrant colours and movement of local communities as they dance and sing, look into gaping active volcanic calderas, or thrill with the drama of meeting the Emberas tribe in the Darien National Park.
Each of these voyages cater for all levels of photography, with a National Geographic photographer on board to enrich your experience, and from whom you will have the opportunity to learn from and work side by side. Enjoy informal lectures covering topics from photography fundamentals and core camera settings to creative techniques such as composition, as well as some general tips for getting better images on your voyage. You’ll also learn all about what it is like to be on assignment for National Geographic, with various behind-the-scenes talks to introduce you to the work that photographers produce for the magazine.
You will experience all this aboard PONANT’s small expedition ships. PONANT, the World Leader in Luxury Expeditions has the youngest fleet of ice-rated environmentally responsible ships in the world, featuring a maximum of just 92 to 132 staterooms and suites – 95% with private balcony. On board, you will experience a refined ambiance, comfort and attentive service as well as an Open Bar, outstanding and inclusive gastronomic meals and complimentary WiFi. All excursions are included, of which you will enjoy outings and landings in Zodiac® boats which further enable access to remote locations and close up encounters with wildlife or local cultures, and all accompanied by PONANT’s team of expedition guides, as well as a National Geographic guest photographer and expert.
With more than 20 years’ experience in some of the most remote locations, not accessible to larger vessels, PONANT has more than 50 expeditions in partnership with National Geographic to choose from, growing every year.
