Video: NASA shares first 8K footage captured in space

Comments Comments

NASA has shared the first ever 8K footage recorded in space on its YouTube channel.

Already racking up a monster half a million views, the three minute video shows a number of experiments filmed aboard the International Space Station, with the aim of revealing more about the 'in-space experience and see how the international partnership-powered human spaceflight is improving lives on Earth, while enabling humanity to explore the universe.'

Viewing the video at its native resolution requires a display capable of showing 8K footage—something we're probably still a few generations away from having in every lounge room.

That said, if you are lucky enough to have an 8K display, you can download the full 3GB video file directly from NASA's Image and Video Library website here.
