Velbon's new Chairpod is a tripod and chair in one

The new year has only just begun, and already we have a candidate for the weirdest camera accessory of the year - ladies and gentlemen, we present the Chairpod.

First reported by DC Watch, the Chairpod HY 127 is a combination of a seat and tripod by company Velbon, perhaps better known for their entry level tripods.

The Chairpod reportedly extends to 117cm centimetres and can support about 80kg of weight. It will also work as a monopod if you're standing too, although that said, you will need to hold it as it relies on the users weight to keep it standing upright. 

Velbon expect to release the tripod sometime in late January 2018. No word on the pricing yet, but it’s expected to be around ¥19,850, or $225AUD.
