Turns out Ray Martin is a pretty impressive photographer

You probably know Ray Martin as a legend in Australian journalism, with an unmatched record of Gold & Silver Logies and People’s Choice Awards - he is without doubt one of the best-loved journalists in Australia.

In 2011, he was recognised with an Order of Australia for his journalism career and charity work, and he was the journalist chosen as host and interviewer for David Attenborough’s travelling road show.

But what you may not know, is that Ray Martin is also a passionate – and gifted – photographer.

Landscape photography legend Ken Duncan is hosting Ray’s first major solo photographic exhibition – Ray Martin’s World – at his Central Coast Gallery from 15 to 23 July.

“Ray has a unique photographic style”, says Ken, “which I believe we can all learn from. I’m sure his talent for capturing the decisive moment is helped by his well-honed investigative skills – his ability to get to the heart of an issue. He doesn’t get too technical with his photography, but maintains a very simple approach. He keeps it fun and captures stunning images – often with just a little Panasonic Lumix camera. I really love Ray’s photos and I’ve persuaded him to exhibit his work to the highest possible quality for everyone to enjoy.”
