Comments Comments

The Environmental Photographer of the Year 2018 is now open for entries.

The compeititon is calling all professional and amateur, national and international photographers of all ages, and exhibits the very best in international environmental photography.

The competition aims to inspire a global audience to think differently about contemporary social and environmental issues; including pollution, plastic, sustainable development and poverty. The winning photographs will highlight environmental problems and encourage organisations and individuals to take more care of our planet.

The competition is sponsored by Olympus UK, and consists of five categories, which each relate to different aspects of the environment. These are:

  • Environmental Photographer of the Year
  • Changing Climates Prize
  • Built Environment Prize
  • Sustainability in Practice Prize
  • Young Environmental Photographer of the Year (Under 21)

Georgina Pavelin, Marketing Manager from Olympus said, “Olympus are proud sponsors of the Environmental Photographer of the Year competition, the images entered into this competition are of a very high standard. These photographs tackle some difficult subjects and bring about responses which are emotional yet creative, depicting an overall story or view with one visual impact.”

Prizes include £2000 pounds cash, an Olympus camera and the chance for photographs to be showcased around the world.

The competition will close on 31st July 2018. To find out more about the Environmental Photographer of the Year, including how to enter, and see all the previous winners, please visit www.ciwem.org/epoty.
