Tamron has announced the launch of its SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F016) and SP 90mm F/2.8 Macro 1:1 Di VC USD (Model F017) lenses.

Of the SP 85MM f/1.8 lens Tamron says it's the world’s first fast-aperture lens with VC (Vibration Compensation). The 85mm lens features LD (Low Dispersion) and XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass elements to minimise color fringing and to aid sharp and clear image quality.

Moisture-Resistant Construction has been added to prevent intrusion of moisture, and a highly durable Fluorine Coating has been applied to the top element surface to prevent condensation and repel smudge-causing substances.

The SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F016) is suitable for full-frame and APS-C format cameras and available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts.

This new lens joins the 35mm F/1.8, 45mm F/1.8 and 90mm Macro in a lineup of SP series prime lenses that has been expanding since 2015.

Tamron says the new SP 90mm F/2.8 MACRO 1:1 Di VC USD (Model F017) has been enhanced with advanced features such as XY-Shift compensation to reinforce VC functionality and improve overall image stabilisation. The lens also has a focus limiter that shortens focusing time and an Internal Focusing system, so the overall length of the lens doesn't change.

The lens features a 9-blade diaphragm design that retains a circular opening to provide pleasing bokeh, has a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m (11.8 inches) and is also suitable for full-frame and APS-C format cameras and available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts.

RRP on SP 90mm F/2.8 Macro 1:1 Di VC USD is $1099. Release date on both lenses and RRP of SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD to be announced.
