Sony Alpha Award winners announced

The winners of the 2018 Sony Alpha awards have been announced, with photographer Ilan Wittenberg winning the Grand Prize and taking home $3,000 of Sony photography gear and a trip to Tanzania for his efforts.

More than 5000 images from both amateur and professional photographers in Australia and New Zealand were entered in the awards, which were judged by photographers Mark Galer and Craig Parry. 

The award winners were:

 ● Abstract: Jingshu Zhu 

● Editorial: David Sickerdick

● Landscape: Grant Galbraith

● Macro: Chris Cope

● Nature: Robyn Waterhouse

● Portrait: Ilan Wittenberg (Grand Prize Winner)

● Sport: Kian Bullock

● Youth: Keeley Watson
