2015 Photographer of the Year has opened for entries with two new junior categories and a record $18,500 in cash and prizes to give away.

Now in it's third year, Photographer of the Year sets out to recognise and reward Australia's best amateur photographers across four categories – Landscape, Portrait, Nature and Black & White.

And, for the first time, the 2015 competition will actively promote the work of young photographers, with two new categories added exclusively for photographers aged 17 and under – Junior Landscape and Junior Portrait.

Thanks to major sponsor Olympus and category sponsors Zenfolio, Eizo, WD and Camera House, winners of the 2015 Photographer of the Year will share in more than $18,500 in cash and prizes.

The overall 2015 Photographer of the Year will win $5000 plus an Olympus OM-D camera.

Individual category winners in the open section of the competition will win $1000 cash plus prizes from category sponsors Eizo, Camera House, WD and Zenfolio. The two junior photographers of the year will each walk away with $250 and an Olympus PEN camera package to the value of $799. Runners up in each of the six categories will win a Camera House voucher for $100.

To enter the competition, upload your portfolio of six images here. You may enter as many times as you like across multiple categories. The entry fee is $20 for the open categories and $10 in the junior categories. Images must have been shot after 1 November 2014.
