Panasonic has released free firmware upgrades for five of it's Lumix G lenses, adding support for Dual IS technology. Introduced with the Lumix DMC-GX8, Dual IS combines the camera's sensor-shift stabilisation and the len's optical stabilisation to offer improved image stabilisation.
The new firmware update, brings the number of lenses compatible with the GX8's Dual IS to eleven, including the Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 24mm F2.8 Macro and collapsible Lumix G Vario 12-32mm F3.5-5.6.
The new firmware is available for the following five lenses:
• Panasonic Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8 Macro ASPH Mega OIS (H-ES045)
• Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS (H-FS45150)
• Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 Mega OIS (H-FS12032)
• Panasonic Lumix G Vario 35-100mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH Mega OIS (H-FS35100)
• Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH Power OIS (H-HS043)
