Entries to the 2014 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize close on September 15. The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize invites images that interpret the theme 'Contemporary Life in Australia' with an emphasis on day-to-day life.

Australia’s biggest photography award, the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize offers $80,000 in prize money with $50,000 awarded to the winning entry and $1,000 for each of the 30 finalists. The prize also recognises the next generation of Australian photographers with cash prizes for secondary school students and their schools, and gifts for primary school finalists.

The Moran Prize is acquisitive and the winning photograph/s immediately becomes the property of the Moran Arts Foundation, to be held and exhibited permanently as part of the Moran Arts Foundation Collection.


Entries for the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize close at 4pm on Monday, September 15.

Judges for the open category of the 2014 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize are Aidan J Sullivan, Vice President of Reportage and Photo Assignment for Getty Images and award-winning Australian photographer William Long. Judges of the student category are Jim Filmer, Nicole Jackson, Sally Mayman and Louise Whelan.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Juniper Hall, Paddington, NSW.
