Leica's new D-Lux (typ 109) compact camera  pairs a Micro Four Thirds (17.3 x 13mm) sensor with a 25-75mm (equivalent) f1.7-2.8 zoom lens.

The product of a collaboration with Panasonic, the new model shares a number of features with Panasonic's recently announced LX100, including a 12.8-megapixel sensor, high-resolution electronic viewfinder, 4K video capture, and built-in WiFi and NFC for image sharing and remote control via a smartphone or tablet. The Leica Image Shuttle app for this can be downloaded free and installed on iOS or Android devices.

Other features include high speed burst shooting at 11fps in full resolution, a top shutter speed of 1/16,000s, focus peaking, level gauge, WB (white balance) bracket, highlight/shadow control and Multi-Aspect Bracket, which allows still images to be captured in 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1 aspect ratios simultaneously.

The D-Lux will be available in Australia in November 2014 with an RRP of $1,450.
