Grenfell tower residents forced to beg people to not take selfies

Residents of the burnt-out Grenfell tower have resorted to creating signs asking people to not take selfies in the shadow of the 67m residential apartment block, according to UK-media outlet Metro.

Investigations into the cause of the 14 June fire that led to the deaths of at least 79 people are still ongoing, with firefighters and rescue crews still work to identify and locate victims. Even with the current death toll as it stands, the fire is the deadliest in mainland Britain since the start of the 20th century.

Unfortunately in recent days the site has since become a popular destination for inappropriate or “disaster selfies”, with grieving residents being forced to inform visitors that the site of the fire is not 'a tourist attraction.'

This is not the time or place to take selfies – in front of a tower block where my friends passed away.
