Fujifilm Australia will begin shipping its flagship X-Pro2 premium interchangeable lens camera in February.

Following on from its predecessor, the X-Pro1, FujiFilm says the X-Pro 2 has been updated and enhanced.

Key features of the X-Pro2 include a Hybrid Multi Viewfinder which combines the advantages of both an optical viewfinder (OVF) and an electronic viewfinder (EVF). 

The camera also boasts a new 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III sensor, high performance X Processor Pro image processing engine, a focal plane shutter with a top speed of 1/8000 second and a weather resistant body.

The X-Pro2 also has a 3-inch 1.62 million dot rear LCD display and its key functions located on the right hand side of the camera body.

Also of note the camera's selectable focusing points have increased from 49 to 77, there's a new graphical user interface design as well as Bright Frame Simulation, ACROS Film Simulation and Grain Effect modes.

Fujifilm says the X-Pro 2 also delivers an improved electric charge transfer rate and algorithm for faster readout, AF and shooting speeds.

The X-Pro2 has a recommended retail price of $2,699 including GST.
