Photokina, the world's largest photographic trade fair, returns to Cologne, Germany, from 20-25 September 2016.

In 2014, the biennial event attracted around 180,000 visitors each year and more than 1100 exhibitors.

This year, the event will be separated into five 'classic theme worlds': Capturing Unlimited (Cameras, lenses and equipment) Lighting Unlimited (Light, flashes and tripods); Creating Unlimited (Input, edit and process); Sharing Unlimited (Store, connect and transfer); and Presenting Unlimited (Finish, print and present).

In addition, organisers have added the eight new first-time 'themes' to the 2016 event: Augmented Reality; Virtual Reality; Cloud Services; Video; Audio; Wearables; Smart Home and Astrofotography.

The overall theme of this year's event is "Imaging Unlimited".

"With the reorientation and the focus on future-related themes and strategic growth areas of the industry, we have set the course for the expansion and reinforcement of photokina as a leading international show", says Christian Müller-Rieker, managing director of Photokina.
