The images of six emerging photographers from Sydney's CATC Design School will be exhibited in a new group show at X88 Gallery in Chippendale from 4-9 August 2015.

Evolution explores ideas of change and metamorphosis through the mediums of mind, body and matter and includes work by students Darrin Acreman, Chrissy Gensch, Inna Kazagrandi, Tahlia Narayan, Carol Workman Philpott and Kelvin Zein.

A spokesperson for the CATC said, "This exhibition is about how change can be presented using chiaroscuro, the creative use of light and shadow. The evocative images draw on the deeply personal thoughts of each member of the group. Themes explored cover such diversity as the human search for inner peace within an urban landscape, the lone monotony of the day to day, how we change our bodies to become the person we see ourselves as, the distinction of nudity and nakedness, the limits of human evolution and the isolation we can feel on the streets."

Evolution is at the X88 Gallery, 88 Abercrombie Street, Chippendale, NSW, from 4-9 August 2015, 10am-4pm daily.
