Canon 'Show us what's possible' campaign to help photographers and creatives turn big dreams into reality.

Canon Australia has launched a new campaign to help professional photographers and creatives bring their biggest ideas to life.

'Show Us What's Possible' calls on professional photographers, cinematographers, creatives and artists who use Canon products to share their big ideas with Canon, with successful proposals slated to receive funding, equipment, technical support and promotion to make them a reality.

Canon launched the campaign last week by helping Bondi photographer Eugene Tan realise his year-long goal of installing a 49-metre print of one of his images on the bottom of Bondi's iconic Icebergs swimming pool.

While Tan's team installed the 700-square-metre aerial photo of Italy's Amalfi Coast on the bottom of the pool, Tan shot the spectacle from a helicopter overhead.

“The Icebergs exhibition is a melting pot of my passions: aerial photography, Italy, the beach, Bondi, and large-scale prints,” Tan said. “For this to be at the iconic Icebergs pool in Bondi Beach, where Aquabumps started 18 years ago, is really a dream come true.”

The project was realised using Canon equipment including the Canon EOS 5DsR and the Arizona 550 flatbed inkjet printer. After a 50-hour printing process, Aquabumps’ production partner for large-format applications, Scaffad, spent five hours installing the 24-piece print.

“We’re proud of the gear we make but it’s only in the hands of creative artists that we can see what’s truly possible when using Canon products,” said Jason McLean, Canon Australia Director of Consumer Imaging at the launch event.

If you want to be part of  'Show Us What's Possible' submit your idea in PDF format, along with  supporting images, to Chris Macleod, Canon Pro Marketing Manager, at pro@canon.com.au.
