Canon's Connect Station CS100 is a photo-storage device which allow users to quickly save, view and share photos and movies.

Canon has produced Connect Station CS100, a unique photo-storage device that it says will allow users to quickly save, view and share photos and movies from one single location. The Connect Station CS100’s key benefits include its ability to touch an NFC camera to transfer photos and movies; the ability to see photos and movies from different devices in one place; the ability to share images to irista (Canon’s cloud-based image management platform) or another Connect Station via CANON iMAGE GATEWAY5; the ability to print straight from a Connect Station to a wireless printer (with PictBridge via wireless LAN compatible printer); and the ability to  transfer images and video from CF and SD memory cards or connect a camera via USB.

Acting as a central hub for up to 1TB of content in the home, the Connect Station CS100 makes concern about which memory card or device users have stored images on a non-issue. All photos and movies can be easily imported via one-touch NFC-enabled Canon cameras. Favourite content can also be transferred to the Connect Station CS100 from a range of devices.

Occasions captured on other cameras can be imported through a USB-wired connection, or directly from a memory card. Spontaneous moments shot on smartphones or tablets can be transmitted using Wi-Fi, via a web browser, making it easier than ever to bring together images or videos. Once stored, the Connect Station CS100 can connect to large screen TVs via HDMI, allowing users to display images and movies in Full HD resolution. For more casual viewing, users can also wirelessly view albums on a smartphone, tablet or computer via a web browser.

The Connect Station CS100 also makes it easy to organise image libraries on a TV. Using the dedicated infrared remote control, users can view content in date order or in themed albums. Using CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, the Connect Station CS100 also lets users easily share images and movies to irista (Canon’s cloud-based image management platform). Albums can also be sent in full resolution to other Connect Station CS100s, allowing users to share with friends and families around the world, and they can print them at a later date. Users can even print stored images, without the need for a PC, using a connected PictBridge via Wireless LAN compatible printer.

The new Canon Connect Station CS100 will be available at selected retail stores from June.
