We go behind the scenes with Dylan Fox to find out how he captured this sun-kissed landscape in the lush heart of Manistee National Park in Michigan, USA.

The United States is home to some stunning places to visit with a camera, from iconic locations like The Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Yosemite (to name a few), to places that many Australians would have never heard of, like the Manistee National Forest in Michigan.

I've been fortunate enough to visit the United States on a number of occasions and last year I spent five weeks there, mostly on the road travelling between a host of new and familiar locations. It was a great experience and very successful photographically.

'Come and Find Me' was captured in Manistee. I spent a few afternoons driving back and fourth looking for the right location, ideally an area with plenty of trees and a thick covering of ferns on the forest floor. I eventually found this place which was completely deserted except for the occasional rustling of some nearby deer.

As the sun set it would break through the trees for a brief moment then disappear again. I only managed a couple exposures like this before the sun dropped below the horizon but I was wrapped to come away with this photograph.

For me, this trip was about finding new ways to photograph the US's iconic locations, and to discover some of the country's lesser-known landscape treasures. All in all it was a trip I will never forget and one I often look back on. Being on the road for a month, with little more to think about than photography, was a blast!
