Adobe adds Touch Bar support to Photoshop CC

Comments Comments

Adobe has updated Photoshop CC, adding support for the contextual Touch Bar on Apple's new MacBook Pro.

The Touch Bar has been described as being helpful for beginners who might not know how to navigate Photoshop, and for experienced users wanting speedier access to the desired next action. It is also useful for accessing controls in a new way, especially controls that were more difficult when operated via keyboard and mouse.

Other updates include revisions to the Layer Properties section, where common actions such as place a Smart Object, clip Layers, and open Select & Mask can be easily accessed. Controls for changing the blend mode and scrubbing through the history are more user friendly via the Touch Bar Retina display which now offers a visual preview.

The Brushes section gives quick access to brush colour, size, hardness, opacity and flow. Each of these commands has a movable slider to pick the correct value.

The Favourites sections allows users to configure their favourite actions. This includes any combination of actions from the previous sections, or other commands like Full Screen mode, Flip Horizontal/Vertical, and launching the MacOS share menu.
