18 Oct 2011 Canon has announced the Canon EOS-1D X, its new top-of-the-line DSLR camera. Key features include a full-frame, 18-megapixel, CMOS sensor; top ISO speed of 51,200 (extendable to a staggering 204,800); redesigned AF system; 12 frames per second (fps) continuous shooting; and Full HD video recording.

21 Sep 2011 After considerable speculation, Nikon has finally unveiled its first mirrorless, interchangeable-lens cameras, the Nikon 1 J1 and Nikon 1 V1. The cameras and four new lenses make up the new "Nikon 1" system, which is based on a one-inch sensor (13.2 x 8.8mm) with a lens crop factor of 2.7x. The new models are expected to go on sale in Australia in late October.
