Olympus to release weatherproof Macro Flash

Olympus has announced the upcoming release of a new weatherproof macro twin flash unit, the STF-8 Macro Flash.

According to the manufacturer the new flash is splashproof and dustproof and can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C.

Features include a guide number of 8.5 when both flash heads fire and 6 when one head fires. The flash also boasts full TTL auto-sync, removable heads, customisable positioning, and manual output control down to 1/128.

The new Macro Flash is compatible with the following lenses:

M.ZUIKO Digital ED 30mm F3.5 Macro
M.ZUIKO Digital ED 60mm F2.8 Macro
M.ZUIKO Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 Pro

Olympus also says users will be able to attach step-up and step-down rings to use other lenses.

The STF-8 Macro Flash is expected to be available in January 2017.
