DJI launches Osmo Mobile

DJI has added to its successful Osmo camera system line-up with the release of Osmo Mobile, a product designed for adding stabilisation to smartphones. 

Osmo Mobile uses DJI’s signature three-axis gimbal stabilisation and SmoothTrack technology to enable smartphone users to shoot high-quality photos and videos on the go.

In combination with the DJI GO App, photos and videos can be live streamed or shared on various social media platforms. DJI’s ActiveTrack function allows users to tap the screen to automatically create framed shots of objects in motion.

DJI says the Osmo Mobile’s three-axis stabilization technology increases precision down to 0.03 degrees of accuracy. DJI’s SmoothTrack technology is designed to compensate for shaking and small movements and make it easier for users to capture smooth footage and sharp images.

By using the trigger control, users can access various modes, as well as switch between the phone’s front and rear cameras. Camera settings, such as ISO, shutter speed and white balance are reachable directly onscreen.

The Osmo Mobile is compatible with most recent smartphone models, including the iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s Plus, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Huawei Mate 8. It should accommodate any Android or iOS smartphone with a width of between 2.31 and 3.34 inches.

The Osmo Mobile’s retail price is US$299.
