Canon announces new EOS models: 77D, 800D

Canon has released details of two new EOS DSLRs – the EOS 800D and the EOS 77D.

Two new DSLRs are set to join the Canon lineup – the entry-level EOS 800D and EOS 77D.

Both cameras are slated for release in April and introduce new features to the EOS lineup including Bluetooth connectivity and a new pictorial menu system that explains exposure modes and key camera controls including aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Other common features include a 24.4-megapixel CMOS sensor (the same sensor used in the EOS 80D), a 3-inch, 1.04 million-dot, vari-angle touchscreen and Canon’s new DIGIC 7 image processor which delivers a 6 frame-per-second burst rate.
Both cameras also benefit from the 80D’s 45-point all cross-type autofocus system for viewfinder shooting, and Dual Pixel AF in live view.

While the 800D and 77D offer similar features, the 77D offers an LCD monitor on the top-deck, interval and bulb timers and more custom controls. Pricing not available at press time.
