Olympus announces firmware updates for OM-D MkII and PEN-F

Olympus has announced significant firmware upgrades that will give improved flash compatibility to a range of its popular compact cameras. 

The upgrades affect Olympus' OM-D E-M1 Mark II, OM-D E-M5 Mark II and PEN-F cameras and compatible lenses.

According to Olympus these upgrades will enable seamless use of Profoto AirTTL flashes with these cameras.

Upgrading to firmware Version 1.2 for the E-M1 Mark II, Version 3.0 for the E-M5 Mark II and Version 2.0 for the PEN-F enables compatibility with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-O and makes TTL and HSS available. 

As well, the latest firnware enables functions such as “Save Setting/Mysets on the E-M5 Mark II and PEN-F, as first introduced with the E-M1 Mark II.

The new firmwares for the OM-D E-M1 Mark II, E-M5 Mark II and PEN-F have been released by Olympus Japan, and customers who have the Olympus Camera Updater or Olympus Viewer installed will receive the update the next time they connect.
