Nikon announces family friendly waterproof digital camera

Nikon has announced the COOLPIX W150, a colorful and rugged point-and-shoot digital camera that should be safe to hand to the kids and still get back in one piece - it's shockproof from drops up to 1.8m, waterproof to 10m, and dustproof and coldproof down to -10C. 

Inside is a 13-megapixel 1/3.1" sensor and a 3x optical zoom NIKKOR lens (30-90mm equivalent), plus there's a 6x Dynamic Fine Zoom that covers approximately 180mm.

Other features include Full HD video with stereo audio, and SnapBridge support for transferring images from the camera to an Android or iOS device.

The W150 also contains several customising capabilities for photos, with scene modes and effects to decorate images in-camera.
