Australia's Top Emerging Photographers Awards 2012

Welcome to Capture’s seventh annual awards showcasing some of the best of Australian photography. The awards aim to encourage and identify up and coming image-makers and promote them in the early stages of their photographic careers. Entrants to the awards had to be photographers with less than four years' full-time professional shooting.

There are eight categories in the program. Entries were assessed by staff of the photographic magazines at Yaffa Publishing, who developed shortlists for judging. These were judged by a panel of leading professional photographers who selected a winner in each category, plus an overall winner named as Australia's Top Emerging Photographer 2012.

This year's overall winner is MARDIANA SANI, winner of the Portrait category.
